APOLLO THEATRE
18 JUNE - 12 SEPTEMBER 2009

Following the success of its 2006 premiere production, the acclaimed stage adaptation of Nina Bawden’s award-winning classic comes to the West End this Summer.

THURS 3 SEPTEMBER: SEE CARRIE'S WAR FOR A SHILLING!

To mark the anniversary of the start of World War II on 3rd September, theatregoers are invited to come along to the Apollo Theatre dressed in period costume (40s/military style) and see Carrie's War for just 1 shilling! (That's 5 pence in today's money!)

The first 100 people who turn up to the theatre in vintage attire will be able to purchase their tickets on the door for just 1 shilling.  Whether your get-up is subtle or showstopping; why not get into the spirit and join us for this very special occasion!

Carrie’s War is the timeless tale of the adventures of Carrie Willow; a young girl evacuated from London during World War II.  Packed off to the Welsh mining valleys with her younger brother Nick, she must adjust to life without her parents – under the guardianship of the dictatorial Mr Evans and kind Auntie Lou.

Remember; relive; discover; this unforgettable story of one ordinary girl - living and growing up through extraordinary times.

MUST END SEPTEMBER 12TH 2009

Performance times: Tuesday-Saturday evenings at 7.30pm, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday matinees at 2.30pm
